Zu Beginn des Geschäftsjahres 2008 möchte ich Ihnen hiermit eine kleine Rückschau auf einige in den letzten beiden Jahren von uns im Kölnischen Stadtmuseum verkaufte Objekte präsentieren. Besonders stolz sind wir darauf, dass uns im Frühjahr 2007 die Hoesch-Kollektion anvertraut worden ist. Diese bedeutende Privatsammlung des bekannten deutschen Großindustriellen H. E. Hoesch, welche u. a. auch die ehemalige Wiener Schreinzer Sammlung und den Nachlaß von Martin Stoss beherbergte, konnte erfolgreich von Geigenbauern, Privatsammlern aber auch von bekannten Wiener Kunstmuseen angekauft werden. Darüber hinaus war es uns eine besondere Ehre, unseren Kunden ein Forum für die Deutsche Erstaufführung des Dokumentarfilms über die große Geigerin Ida Haendel zu präsentieren. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn Sie uns auch im Jahr 2008 wiederum Ihr Vertrauen entgegenbringen.

At the beginning of the year 2008 we would like to present you with a brief review of some of the objects we successfully auctioned at the Kölnisches Stadtmusem during the course of the last two years. We are particularly proud that in the spring of 2007 we were entrusted with the Hoesch collection. We were able to sell this significant private collection of the known German industrial magnate H. E. Hoesch, which, among others, included the Viennese Schreinzer collection and the estate of Martin Stoss, to violin makers and private collectors, as well as a known Viennese art museum. In addition, it was a particular honor last year to host the German premiere of the documentary about the great violinist Ida Haendel. We hope that you will continue to grant us your trust and confidence in the year 2008.

Au début l’exercice 2008, je tiens à vous présenter, par la présente, un petit aspect rétrospectif sur quelques- uns des objets que nous avons vendus pendant les deux dernières années passées au musée municipal de Cologne. Nous sommes particulièrement fiers du fait qu’on nous a confié au printemps 2007 la collection d’objets d’art de Hoesch. Cette importante collection privée qui est remarquable par ses oeuvres, qui avait été rassemblée par le grand industriel allemand H. E. Hoesch, et qui abritait aussi entre autres l’ancienne collection Schreinzer de Vienne, ainsi que les objets posthumes de Martin Stoss, a pu être achetée avec succès par des luthiers, des collectionneurs privés mais aussi par des musées d’art connus à Vienne. En outre, il nous était un honneur particulier d’offrir à nos clients l’occasion de voir le premier passage du film documentaire sur la grande violoniste Ida Haendel devant un public allemand.
